i have a personal email addy and a work addy. if i forward a mail from
my work to my wife, her address book entry for me flips to my work addy
causing much annoyance. how to make her mailmate prefer my personal
addy and not get confuddled?

Sorry, that's a bit hard to decipher, so I might not understand it
correctly.

MailMate should not prefer your address if your wife haven't sent
anything to you. At least not by default. Maybe check that the
auto-completion source specified in the Composer preferences pane is
based on recipient headers of the Sent Messages mailbox (and not, e.g.,
“All Messages”).
